The question now is whether this is the right team to break down Rafael Benitez’s side and collect all three points. Not one or zero.

The Magpies have had a terrible start to the season and, however, Benitez organises his players, they really are a woeful side and United should be taking advantage of them.

As expected, Ashley Young takes the right-back slot from Antonio Valencia, as well as the captain’s armband. Scott McTominay joins Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba in midfield and the front three consists of Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.

Of course, Newcastle beat United 1-0 at St James’ Park in February and could record back-to-back wins over The Reds for the first time since 1972.

An interesting stat to take into the game is United are one short of becoming the fourth club to score 100 Premier League penalties, following Liverpool (114). Chelsea (113) and Arsenal (103).
