Now, Manchester United are ready to give Lingard a bumper new deal after his heroics for both club and country.

It is clear that he’s highly-rated by United manager Jose Mourinho, and the club realises his huge global worth if he continues to shine at this summer’s tournament.
The 25-year-old only signed a new four-year deal worth £75,000-a-week in April last year, but Old Trafford chiefs are already looking at giving him fresh terms that could see his wages doubled in the process.
A source at United has spoken to The Sun: “Jesse has shown that he is a top-class performer on and off the pitch.
“He had a fabulous season for the club last year and has taken that form onto the international stage so far.
“His England showings has been brilliant and the club know he is all set to become a global star if he continues.”
Lingard is fully expected to start against Sweden when England play next in the quarter-finals.
