Bad news for Man Utd: Real Madrid enter race for €150m superstar

Manchester United could face stiff competition in their chase for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who seems to be one of the most wanted players this summer ahead of the World Cup.

The Reds have been linked with the Serbia international all summer and fans will keep a keen eye on the attacking midfielder at football’s biggest international tournament.

According to Sport.ilmessaggero.it, Real Madrid are willing to break the bank to land the player and have a €150 million offer ready for Serie A outfit Lazio as they prepare to push on without Zinedine Zidane.

These stories, however, make me laugh. How can a club with no manager spend big on such a player not knowing if the next manager has him in his plans or not? It’s mind-boggling, and the target reported will also want to sit down and talk with his potential new boss.

The player has made it clear he won’t decide his future until after the World Cup, saying he is aware of the speculation over a possible Lazio exit, but ‘can’t wait’ for the World Cup to kick off.

United need additions in midfield after losing Michael Carrick to retirement and Marouane Fellaini potentially as a free transfer. Fred has come in, so at least we’ll get to see another United player compete on the world’s biggest stage.
