According to ESPN, Marouane Fellaini is considering interest from Roma, Marseille or a switch to the Chinese Super League as the Belgium international is preparing to leave Manchester United.
Fellaini has seen his game time cut short in recent weeks with United manager Jose Mourinho preferring to opt for midfield alternatives such as Ander Herrera, Jesse Lingard and Scott McTominay. That trio, it goes without saying, contribute to team playing a better brand of football than hoofing the ball long to Fellaini, which was often the case whenever he played last season.
However, the same media outlet previously reported Mourinho had been keen for the club to sanction a new deal for Fellaini, but having rejected an initial offer in September, as per the same ESPN report, Fellaini has yet to commit to new terms.
Back in February, talkSPORT claimed the Belgium international had agreed a five-year contract with Galatasray ahead of the summer transfer window.
If Fellaini is to leave it’s unlikely many United fans will shed a tear. He has his benefits like use of the elbow but apart from that I’d struggle to come up with anything else.
Fellaini never really fit the mould of a United midfielder.
