According to a report today from ESPN writer and journalist Miguel Delaney, Manchester United have been quoted over £45m for Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal. Miguel is very reliable when it comes to United’s transfer business and is worth keeping an eye out for.
It is no secret that the Chilean is one of the world’s best midfielders and while he was limited with injury during the World Cup, Vidal still managed to impress. United had been keeping tabs on Vidal for quite some time now but it was only in January when United actually enquired about his signature.
ESPN’s sources say that United’s pursuit of him as hotted up in recent weeks and that Vidal himself is ‘open to the idea’. They also mentioned Arsenal are interested but Juventus understandably are unwilling to sell their star player hence why they’ll only consider a huge offer over £45m.
The article also states that United are prepared to spend over £150m with Van Gaal wanting a centre back and another midfielder. United are expected to strike a deal with Arsenal to sign Thomas Vermaelen while continuing interest in Mats Hummels while De Jong and Schweinsteiger are also targets.
