Fellaini: Moyes is like a father to me

After two impressive performances against Crystal Palace and West Brom, Marouane Fellaini looks to be finding form as he settles in at Manchester United.

The Belgian midfielder now feels duty bound to repay a debt of gratitude to under-pressure David Moyes, who transformed his career.

“He is like a father to me,” said Fellaini. “When I arrived at Everton I learned a lot from him. He is also hard with me as well. Last season when I was suspended after playing Stoke City he was very hard on me. He made me go back out and train alone with him. I was like his son. I could never say something bad about him because he has done everything for me. When I played bad he told me. When I played well he told me. It’s important for me that when I am good he tells me. And when I am bad he does the same.”

Fellaini has only recovered from an operation on a wrist injury and it’s clear that he’s set his sights on making up for lost time. For instance, the performance against West Brom last weekend was his best so far at United.
