Fabrizio Romano has given Manchester United fans a large chunk hope in his latest update on Gianluigi Donnarumma.

The 26-year-old is coming off arguably the best season of his career, whether on a personal level thanks to his astonishing displays, or in terms of his achievements at club level, with Paris Saint-Germain finally lifting the Champions League they long craved.

However, the Italian has suddenly become one of the hottest topics on the market after failing to reach an agreement with PSG on a new contract. The Ligue 1 giants have already acquired Lucas Chevalier as a replacement and entrusted him with the No.1 role, while Donnarumma has been shockingly omitted from the squad.

Man Utd looking to pounce on Donnarumma’s chaotic affair

This chaotic situation in Paris has been music to the ears of Man Utd who are in the market for a new goalkeeper, and have now set their sights on Donnarumma.

In the latest video posted on his YouTube channel, Romano delivered important updates on this front, reiterating his prediction regarding an exit before the end of the summer transfer window.

Hence, the Italian journalist firmly believes that Donnarumma will have a new club by the end of the month, and his ‘most likely destination’ is in the Premier League.

Can Man United pull off Donnarumma coup?

But while Romano identifies Man Utd as one of the main players in the race, he insists that INEOS must first offload one of their two goalkeepers, either their current No.1 Andre Onana or his understudy Altay Bayindir.

Moreover, MUFC must decide whether they want to pursue a world-class goalkeeper, or invest in a less celebrated profile like Senne Lammens who would cost less in terms of salary and transfer fee.

Nevertheless, it should be said that signing one of the finest goalkeepers in the world on a cut price is an opportunity not to be missed, so INEOS should certainly give their best shot on this particular front.

Romano also reveals that Bayern do appreciate the Euro 2020 hero, but they never made any concrete contact on this front, while Chelsea and Man City are unlikely to go after a shot-stopper this summer.

  1. It would be fantastic to get this guy but Amorim must give up the idea of playing out from the back as this guy is not so good at it.

  2. If united wants an instant success they may go for Donnarumma but could cost them a huge bill to pay. Buy a cheaper and younger options its better for them to get Senne Lammens.

    1. If Gianluigi Donnarumma can be signed the move will ensure a settled and experienced goalkeeper to play No. 1 and it will be a seamless transition for the club as well as the players.
Senne Lammens will be a young choice but may be not ready yet to take over the No. 1 position immediately .

  3. Donnarumma is the best possible option that united would be needing at this very moment of their low especially as Mourinho the former coach of Chelsea once said about Petr cech, “after beating all his defenders, then always know it that you have the last defender in Petr cech to try and beat”, how warming an encouraging that was for a world class keeper you believe so much in especially as he’s had some proven track records to his admirable qualities overtime and the same can be said about the mighty donnarumma who was left unappreciated by an ungrateful PSG that could have lost easily to Liverpool and Aston villa were it not to be as a result of donnarumma’s brilliance enroute to wining the CL for the first time but bet me, they’ve really undone themselves and their eventually heading for their worst ever campaign ever.

In all, this is a very very good opportunity for Manu whose goalkeeping errors and blunders cost them more than a lot last season to get their hands on a man who’s conquered Europe at the euro 2020 and last season in the CL with his sublime brilliance.

  4. Imagine if Utd had a Donnarumma kind of goal keeper last season , the club would probably have lifted Europa cup last 2024 / 2025.

  5. Man UTD will be making a grevious mistake not to sign a reliable keeper to challenge Onana. Moreso, what happened when Onana goes to AFCON. And man UTD. Is the only big club in EPL with one known striker in Sesko. Ferguson once had Rooney, Berbatov and Tevev, even when Ronaldo was hitting the back on the post with reckless abandon. Again, even sesko is yet an EPL proven. Football in a contract game full of injuries, suspension, and even illness. What’s happened when such occurs? Hojlund must not be sold, instead, let Luke Shaw off.
