Stretty News understands Eric Bailly will not be named in Manchester United’s starting XI against Liverpool.

Eric Bailly has performed brilliantly in recent weeks but a source claims Victor Lindelof will start alongside Harry Maguire today at Anfield.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw are expected to start in their full-back roles — a back-four from United, with support from Fred and Scott McTominay in midfield.

There’s also a start for both Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes, with Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford leading the line up front.

While the team won’t be announced by the club until 3:30pm, this is the United starting XI to face Liverpool as far as we understand: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw; Fred, McTominay, Pogba, Fernandes; Martial, Rashford.

There has been question marks over Martial’s fitness after sustaining a knock at the end of United’s 1-0 win over Burnley on Tuesday night, but it looks like he’s won his race against time to be fit for the big game.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has gone with pace up front meaning Edinson Cavani will be benched when many fans would’ve thought he was the best fit to cause problems in the Liverpool defence.

Now, the question is can this side go six points clear on top of the Premier League or settle for a draw?
