Manchester United are reportedly ‘set to part ways’ with Manuel Ugarte just 17 months into his five-year deal.
That’s according to Turkish journalist Erol Evcen, who claims that the midfielder is currently being ‘closely monitored’ by Galatasaray ahead of the January transfer window opening in three weeks’ time.
The Super Lig giants, who sit two points clear atop the table after 15 matches, are planning to ‘knock on United’s door’ in the winter in hopes of taking Ugarte off their hands.
United mulling over premature Ugarte sale

In truth, you can understand why INEOS might be keen to offload the Uruguayan while his stocks are still somewhat high.
Ugarte is only 24 years old, and now boasts senior European experience in Portugal with Sporting Lisbon, France with Paris Saint-Germain and the Premier League, albeit he hasn’t been able to replicate his best form in the English top flight.
For Sporting, he made 85 appearances under Amorim before making the switch to the Parc des Princes in the summer of 2023, so United fans anticipated Ugarte would play a key role in the middle of the park when Amorim took the reins.
That did seem to be the case throughout the coach’s maiden term, as Ugarte made 34 appearances in total – 28 of which came from the off.
However, he has fallen in Amorim’s estimations considerably in recent months, having started only twice in the opening 14 league outings of 2025/2026. Additionally, the Montevideo-born Red has been an unused substitute for four whole matches.
INEOS could raise winter funds through Ugarte sale

It remains to be seen what kind of fee United would demand to facilitate his exit, or whether they would negotiate an initial loan, followed by a buy obligation for the end of the campaign.
The club agreed a deal worth £50.5 million to bring Ugarte to Manchester last year, paying £42m upfront and pledging the rest in add-ons.

INEOS and Wilcox now going to allow Amorim to splash more money whilst the Academy Kids are leaving MU because of this muppet,he is absolutely inept managing MU he might be ok in the Airy Fairy Portugese league he has proven he can,t cope playing with the big boys in the EPL totally out of his depth, spend the money and cut him lose fr an instant turn around of MU
