Manchester United take to the famous City Ground on Saturday afternoon in hopes of extending their winning streak to four successive games.
Arguably, there’s not really a better fixture to have up next, given how calamitous Forest’s season is turning out to be in these early stages of the season.
How Forest fare heading into the clash
The Midlands outfit are already on their third manager by October; Evangelos Marinakis opted to cut ties with Nuno Espirito Santo back in September before replacing him with Ange Postecoglou to turn Forest’s fortunes around.
When he was unable to do so, his tenure was cut short after only 39 days, making him the shortest-serving manager in Premier League history.
Marinakis has since called upon season top-flight veteran Sean Dyche to try and steady the ship, although he oversaw a 2-0 defeat in his first league game away to Bournemouth.
As a result, Forest now sit 18th-placed in the table on five points. Their only win of the campaign thus far came on the opening day via a 3-1 home victory over Brentford, and they have since drawn twice and lost six matches.
It’ll be interesting to see whether Dyche sticks with the familiar faces we’ve been seeing since the term got underway, or whether he’ll take a gamble – like we’ve been doing on the Orion play online casino – with a few fringe players for the visit of the 20-time champions.
In-form Reds could be game-defining on Saturday
Ruben Amorim, on the other hand, will undoubtedly be relying on his key lieutenants Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha to work their magic once again after both enjoyed sensational performances in the win over Brighton and Hove Albion.
Mbeumo was at the double over the weekend, netting goals in the 61st minute and the seventh minute of injury time, while fellow summer signing Cunha opened the scoring in the 24th minute.
The pair are proving to be worth every penny; United shelled out a whopping £127.5 million to prise the attackers from their respective clubs during the transfer window.
It just goes to show how effective it can be to sign Premier League-proven talents. Cunha and Mbeumo oversaw stellar personal seasons throughout 2024/2025 in front of goal and have now carried that same form over to Manchester.
Kick-off is at 3pm on Saturday afternoon in West Bridgford, meaning supporters will have to wait until after full-time to watch the full highlights of the 90-minute affair – unless you’re lucky enough to have a ticket for the away day.
