Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has been advised against fielding Diogo Dalot in his starting lineup against Nottingham Forest.
The Red Devils have been enjoying a purple patch in the last few weeks, winning their last three Premier League contests on the trot, at the expense of Sunderland, Liverpool, and most recently, Brighton.
Nevertheless, fans and observers remain sceptical about this uprising, especially after witnessing a few false dawns already in recent years. Therefore, the players will be keen to confirm their upturn by extending their winning streak at City Ground on Saturday.
Should Ruben Amorim drop Diogo Dalot in Forest vs Man Utd clash?
While the old cliche says ‘you don’t change a winning team’, the Manchester Evening News journalist Ross Jackson insists that a little tweak might be necessary for Man Utd this weekend.
The source feels that Dalot has been ‘struggling’ at both ends of the pitch; He hasn’t been able to offer the required support in final third, and has been somewhat shacky at the back.

The 26-year-old is originally a right-back, but with Amad Diallo making the right wing-back role his, Amorim has been fielding him on the left-hand side in recent weeks at the expense of Patrick Dorgu.
Dalot is also considered one of the manager’s best allies in the locker-room alongside club captain Bruno Fernandes.
However, Jackson insists that a change could be necessary against Forest, as United could require additional defensive solidity to cope with the hosts’ fluid attacking trident.
Would Amorim replace Dalot with Noussair Mazraoui?
The source thus elects Noussair Mazraoui for the role. The Morocco international is considered by some Man Utd insiders as the club’s best signing in years thanks to his versatility, dedication and relatively low asking price (circa £14 million).
The former Ajax and Bayern Munich star has only just returned from an injury. He earned a call-up against Liverpool and Brighton, but remained on the bench for the duration of the contest.
| Stats in 24/25 | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| Diogo Dalot | 53 | 3 | 5 |
| Noussair Mazraoui | 57 | 0 | 3 |
While Jackson may have a point, Amorim could instead prefer to gradually reintroduce Mazraoui into the fold rather than thrusting him in the starting lineup on Saturday.
Therefore, Dalot remains the heavy favourite to maintain his spot on the left side.

Dalot has been shaky for the whole seasonbut Armirin eill not bench him. Remember his saying that he will not chance including his love for Dalot no matter how bad he is playing
Amorim will start Dalot I’m sure. He doesn’t rush players back into the set up. Don’t fix what ain’t broken. Trust in the Boss.
Diogo is good enough to start against forest. You don’t change a winning team ok?!!

His good on ball ,but we need a perfect defensive not only attack only so we need a sprint and fast dribbling guy and that can track back and front and know how to tackle like Amass we don’t need to stress much on anyone again we need him back
We need to maintain the momentum at Forest on Saturday. So in my opinion there can be no room for liabilities and players who won’t give 100%. I would thefefore prioritize Mazzraoui as opposed to Dalot.
It’s already cost us now Diogo to be replaced
