Ruben Amorim knows better than any manager that you’re only as good as your last result.
That’s why he will be absolutely adamant to build on Manchester United’s Anfield triumph with a win over Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday evening, when the South Coast outfit travel to Old Trafford for a 5.30 pm kick-off.
Last Sunday’s win emphatic over Liverpool marked the first time Amorim has won back-to-back Premier League games since his tenure began last November.
It left United ninth-placed in the table – but only two points adrift of the top four. Considering how turbulent the first two months of the campaign were, that’s not too bad going in supporters’ eyes – plenty of whom are backing Amorim to turn things around and be the man to put the club back on their pedestial.
Fans will also be wary of the threat Brighton pose, given they were one of a host of teams to complete a league double over United in 2024/2025. Fabian Hurzeler’s side oversaw a 2-1 win at the Amex followed by a 3-1 victory in Manchester.
As such, it’s a tricky game to call for punters. Brighton are on the back of a 2-1 win over Newcastle United but, prior to that, they were held to a 1-1 draw against rock-bottom Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The odds will continue to fluctuate in the build-up to the highly anticipated outing, so be sure to keep tabs on how United’s chances are looking with Bnb Gambling.
How could United line up vs Brighton?

In regards to the team Amorim might opt to deploy against the Seagulls, there’s likely no need to rotate after how his XI performed last time out.
He may lean towards a more pacey centre-half like Leny Yoro over Harry Maguire, although from Maguire’s perspective, his late winner on Merseyside should automatically earn him a spot in the subsequent outing!
Benjamin Sesko will also be chomping at the bit to be restored to the side and add to his goal tally, having scored twice already in his first eight appearances.
Yet, Amorim’s chosen attackers on Sunday – Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Mason Mount – did a stellar job causing trouble for Liverpool’s backline, particularly Mbeumo, who opened the scoring inside two minutes.
In the middle of the park, Casemiro could be granted an initial rest, as he played 180 minutes over the international break with Brazil, taking part in two friendlies in South Korea and Japan. He then started and lasted until the 58th minute against Arne Slot’s side before being withdrawn for Manuel Ugarte.
