Alan Pardew has expressed his sympathy towards Rasmus Hojlund, whom Manchester United are desperately trying to sell before the transfer deadline.
Just two years into the Dane’s five-year deal at Old Trafford, he is being pushed towards the exit following the arrival of a direct replacement in the form of Benjamin Sesko.
Alan Pardew concerned by Rasmus Hojlund situation

Ahead of the weekend’s season-opener against Arsenal, it was confirmed Hojlund would miss out completely amid expectations he had already played his final game for United.
He did attend the match, but could only watch on from the stands as the goalscoring burden was shared between Matheus Cunha and, eventually, Sesko off the bench.
When weighing in on the club’s transfer business on talkSPORT, Pardew told the panel: “I’ll be very surprised [if Carlos Baleba happens] unless they get a big signing out. Maybe, if Hojlund were to move on, that would create enough room. I mean, where was he today? He wasn’t even in the squad.
“I feel so sorry for that young boy – he had to wear the number nine shirt almost entirely on his own last year, carrying the team. And even though he was trying to grow into it, now all of a sudden it’s like, ‘you’ve got to go.’”
Pardew’s wrong, United are right to part ways with Hojlund
It’s a sentiment that is being echoed by some supporters. However, others are pleased to see INEOS finally acting ruthlessly. If this had been the case earlier in the likes of Jadon Sancho’s and Antony’s tenures, they’d have perhaps been removed from the books in a more timely manner, as opposed to constant loans without recuperating any money at all.
Hojlund, truthfully, just has not been at the calibre required of a Premier League centre-forward. 14 goals in 62 top-flight matches is nothing short of an atrocious return for a £72 million investment, so why not try and make some of the funds back whilst he has suitors waiting to negotiate a deal?
As things stand, Hojlund has attracted interest from as many as five Serie A sides, with AC Milan deemed frontrunners after holding direct talks in recent days.
He was initially closed off to the prospect of a premature United exit, but has since conceded that he’s unlikely to play even if he does stay put.

The quality of the goals he scored in his first season showed great technical ability. He’s been playing with inverted wingers who don’ cross the ball and Bruno who would rather take a shot than feed any runners in the middle of the park. It is very unfair and I hope we don’t regret selling Hojlund if Sesko does not perform or gets injured. He deserves the chance and does have the quality!! It’s like the blind leading the blind with this club.
fr brotha
Agree 200%
He looked good in the brief chance we saw him. Hopefully they can get some money for him….then there’s Bruno. He’s holding back mainoo and by not contributing to anything but his own stats, he’s brings the creativity level down.
That’s exactly right 👍
100%
I agree 100% with you mate. Hojlund did not get any service at all but the boy works hard. Amorim is a very biased coach. He has ‘favourites’ & that’s why he’d rather play Bruno out of position than Mainoo which fact directly led to Arsenal’s goal as it was his back pass that led to the corner. Starting Mount in a striker position than Hojlund who is a natural sats a lot.
Why united wants to make errors like selling pogba at younger age then after bought him at a higher price ,he deserves a chance to prove coz last season we saw Bruno creating for himself and others doing the same for him
Absolutely spot on mate
I quite agree with your comment. Man united should be more patient in discarding quality players and coaches that have pedigree if they are to come out of their predicament. If not the situation will remain the same. I have watched stars greater than Hojlund come to man u. But reduced to nothing.
United should have parted ways withAmorim, Onana, Zirkzee and would have with minimal spending easily beaten the out of sorts Arsenal in the 1st match.
You plastics are absolutely ridiculous
You can go, Amorim stays …
Hahahahaha, oh my aching sides. I don’t know what Arsenal match you were watching but obviously it wasn’t last Sunday’s. When did you last see a Man Utd side so energetic and so committed, winning the ball back so often and attacking with pace. Who do you think has dropped all the dead wood and has instilled passion into a lack lustre side, a manager that you’d get rid of!!! It’s not the finished product yet but the jigsaw pieces are beginning to form a beautiful picture.
Parted ways with Amorim? The out of sorts Arsenal you watched was mainly because of the tactical and reformed Man utd team by Amorim, just quit your dealer man, don’t know what you smoking !
My heart bleed the way Man U has become, when this guy Amorim came to the club. I have said this before and will say it again, this man can’t win any silver ware for this club, come Sunday Man U will lose again . The earlier he goes the better for club .
Rasmus deserves another year or so….
His confidnce will soon be back then well see him start scoring goals again.
Don’t compare Hojlund to those wasters, those money grabbers, who are not there fir the lovebof Manchester united. We all know who they are, and such atrocious money for immature boys, ld put Rashford in that group.
The coach is somehow crazy in making decisions, coz coach he’s not suppose to work with new faces each season, that’s not Fair, he’d rather stick to the Old players and try to bring in some few players more especially those positions need to be strengthened rather selling the prayers who have already adapted in the environment, I always see our Coach Amorim bring biased,,, he’ll regret of selling Rasmus
I agree with you 💯% Rusmas deserved some game time this season having learnt from last season disastrous finish. He is also a natural 9 than Mason really. Amorim should be very careful with his decisions. Otherwise it will cost him his job also.
To man utd are not serious. What kind of o team wants to be having one player in each position? Hojlund was supposed to be given another year? If Reuben is offloading him like that, then why keeping Onana? The players are being biased and that’s why he is offloading Garnacho too. Mainoo is being benched and Bruno starting in defending positions. This guy will not win a silver wear. He is so biasing. We offloaded Sancho loaning him to BVB before Chelsea, we saw his performance. Mctominay to Napoli even Elanga, Antony to Betis, but to us they are trash. Why???????
Dispose Mount,Casamiro and Shaw they r all hopeless leave Hojlund alone. Amorin shouldn’t be emotional when being critized for failing to understand the correct playing positions to particular players. What a hell play Mount in position nine and leave out Hojlund?
U are absolutely right. I wonder how people analyse matches, with bias mindset. This is the first time we watched Man U and we are still happy after their loss to a team like Arsenal. The team set a new tone in their performance. Formally, Man U lack beautiful modern playing pattern but with Amorim’s 3-4-3 formation, the team is becoming more compact, disciplined and playing with intensity. The new signings are justifying why they came into the club, the old members are adapting well and fast to the playing pattern and bomb squad players like Sancho, Garnacho, Rashford, Anthony and Malacia need to move on. Let’s hope they can continue with that team spirit. There is hope that the team will get better with time. They are in the rebuilding process and it takes patience.
If Allan Pardew is interested in Houjland let him go ahead and sign him. In Man United we are into excellent performance.if u don’t u exit. Don’t waste clubs money and fans support
We can pare Rasmus hojlund and sesko we will see Rooney and Tevez remake. Rasmus need a strike partner like sesko to grow with and get good link up.. Manchester United are back but Bruno will need to come from the bench after game reading and Mbeumo amad can’t play well together on same flank properly. One has to start while the order, a dangerous sub.
So was how we got stucked with so many of these no-good. Let’s give him one more year he will pick up next season was how Martial spent 10yrs at old Trafford, Van de beek did 4yrs, Jones did 9yrs or so, Rashford 10yrs, Shaw approaching 10yrs, Mount already counting 3yrs and so many of them. Check Real Madrid or Barca, do u see these kind of patterns
Just another punk with a keyboard. Where did you bring Rashford from? Did he come for money? Stop the cap.
When Man Utd has a dumb ass management which keeps buying players no required or not liable for any given system in place, then try to chnage play style and system every 2 games. Of all players ever bought by Eric T.H tell me which has been phenomenal??? Was those purchases even necessary?
You are have eyes 👀 i have nothing else to say because you have said it all.
I quite agree with your comment. Man united should be more patient in discarding quality players and coaches that have pedigree if they are to come out of their predicament. If not the situation will remain the same. I have watched stars greater than Hojlund come to man u. But reduced to nothing.
Amorim is stupid, if sesko gets injured who’s the back up? Mount? We should keep hojlund the guy has effort , if it wasn’t for self-service Bruno the guy would have improved. He’s also stupid letting off ganarcho, all he had to do was manage him, whose the back up for cunha when he gets injured? Building a great team is not about the first 11, your bench matters , ours will be full of crap at this rate … that coach has a bias
