Manchester United are reportedly preparing to submit a formal offer for Benjamin Sesko as a response to Newcastle.
The two Premier League clubs are equally determined to sign a new centre-forward this summer, as the Red Devils need an upgrade on Rasmus Hojlund, while the Magpies might be forced to find a replacement for wantaway Alexander Isak.
Amidst the lack of options at this stage of the summer, MUFC and NUFC have both identified Sesko as their preferred target.
Man United & Newcastle battling it out for Benjamin Sesko
While Man Utd have been monitoring the 22-year-old RB Leipzig star for quite some time now, it was Newcastle who made the first big move, submitting an offer worth almost £70 million for Sesko.
Thanks to their superior finances, the Geordies already have the required resources to close the deal with the Bundesliga club and meet the Slovenian’s wage demands. However, Sesko asked for additional time before making a final decision on the future, giving United a much-needed lifeline.

Nevertheless, INEOS must have realised that time is running out, so they are now expected to present Leipzig with a formal offer, explains Sky Sports News correspondent Dharmesh Sheth.
Man Utd set to launch Sesko bid
The same source reveals that the young striker is open to joining either club, but is now inclined to pick Man United, at least if they manage to find an agreement with Leipzig over a transfer fee. However, Sheth doesn’t mention whether United’s offer will match the one presented by Newcastle a few days ago.
The journalist also believes that Sesko’s arrival at Carrington could open the door for Hojlund’s departure.
The Denmark international had recently stated his desire to remain at the club and fight for his place, but he has also been linked with a return to Serie A, where he had made a name for himself at Atalanta in the 2022/23 season.
It is also interesting to see if MUFC are capable of matching Newcastle’s offer prior to offloading their outcasts, namely Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Jadon Sancho.

Sign Sesko and sell Hojlund, Ganacho, Antony, and Sancho quickly to balance the books. Let’s not make Sesko the new Harry Kane failed signing who went on to be prolific at Bayern Munich!
Man united should give playing time to Hojland, obi and ganacho instead sign Sesko by selling Anthony and ancho
yes we need to buy Sesko, but also need to have our manager reconcile with Ganacho, so we can go forward and not once again lose one of our most exciting players and regret it later.
The Big 6 collab have taken away every player the Toon have looked at. Never happened before. There is a PL agenda out there
Whether Newcastle play a champion league football can’t compare to Man united, the club is bigger than Newcastle even sesko knows that
Garnacho thinks he’s better than he is. Potential? Yes. But right now he loses the ball too much in the final third. His attitude needs major adjusting. Sell him!!
Exactly . Ganacho should be natured at united.
If he’s got any sense, he’d join Newcastle “UNITED”
Ain’t a clue why he would to sign for Man U when they aren’t even playing in Europe. Newcastle have a lot more to offer
He will join UNITED because Amorin will sell him the dream.
Newcastle is there to attend not to compete, Sesco’s camp knows too.
Imagine living there ?
How long are Newcastle going to last in the Champions league, not very long at all.No players want to go to Newcastle, they are the ugly ducklings of the premier league…
do not sell Hugland bring in sesko so that husband can be a back up to sesko
The Big 6 collab have taken away every player the Toon have looked at. Never happened before. There is a PL agenda out there
Why oh why can’t United not be professional like Sir Alex Ferguson who always got his man ,but then again the Sir had a boardroom that new how to use their god given Brains unlike those after him under Moyes, Solskjaer morinoh Ten Hag Amorim ,all flippant unprofessional clown just make Hojlund part of the deal, so give Hojlund who’s valued at£45. Million and pay the extra £30.million to get Sesko…period case closed…go ask the great Sir how to close the deal you flippant 🍩 S…
Damn right dude….salute..!!! Get it underway then we move on to strengthen the midfield role and getting the proper goalie and close the casket… we running out of time , the players need some prime time within pre season to get along in order to bring back the theatre of dreams spirit back….
That’s not an update. It’s just a rehash of the clickbait that’s been around for most of the last week. Poor show!
Signed sesko and leave hojlund because man u need two number 9 sigh keeper and mifider and one defender
United need a midfielder and a goalie more than they need this risky signing
If United really need a no.9 and want Sesko, then go and get Sesko. Close the deal. Sesko has huge potential, a very similar offerring to Haaland. If Hojlund is nkt sold then let him play off the bench… he may even surprise us and shine as a sub (similar to Solksjaer)
It doesn’t make sense to sell a No.9, to buy another No.9, when you will still be left with one No.9 with no back up. I think Højlund has been made a scapegoat by the media and many supporters. The whole team was terrible, not just him, plus you could put any forward you like in there, with no support, and you’ll get the same result.
No Houjlund never took his chances, he a major-ve in that struggle. Not good enough, poor movement. Poor first touch, zero hold up Play. Him and Onana drop united to 15th. United actually created chances.
Get for us benji
We need sesco to sign and Rasmus as a back up Ganacho to stay Antony and Sancho to go
If we miss out on sesco lets go and get Baleba then give young boy Obi a lot of games he will be our isak in few seasons to come, also we should have managed garnacho better
Really agreed to that. Give our young academy player more games and he will improve.

selling Ganacho we will regret one day please don’t
Please sell hojlund
Why not buy sesc0 to support themself with hojlund and sell antony, sancho, garnacho to fill the gap.
Manchester United to have any chance of competing in the Premier League need to buy a centre forward a midfield player and a goalkeeper to add to the three signings the club have already made if we kick off the new season with just the three signings that the club has made it will not be enough to challenge for the top places in the Premier League.
