Over six weeks after submitting their first offer, Manchester United have today sent what they insist will be their final proposal for Bryan Mbeumo.

The ever-reliable transfer expert David Ornstein confirmed this afternoon that an offer of £65 million plus £5m in add-ons had been presented to the Bees board after United failed with their most recent bid of £55m plus £7m in add-ons.

United have yet to receive a response, but it’s been claimed by Ben Jacobs that they will not return with a higher fee in the event Brentford reject this one.

The player himself is pushing behind the scenes to complete the move, too, with Jacobs adding that Mbeumo has privately told the club’s board that United’s offer is a fair one whilst reiterating his desire to leave.

INEOS chiefs have seemingly been encouraged to test Brentford’s resolve once again due to Newcastle United’s recent approach for Yoane Wissa. It’s previously been reported that the side have no intention of losing both Wissa and Mbeumo, meaning the Reds are now in a race against time to seal an agreement for their target before his counterpart is sold.

After Mbeumo, there’s still work to do for INEOS

Mbeumo, 25, would join Matheus Cunha as Ruben Amorim’s only summer additions thus far in what’s been a hugely uneventful window in M16.

Assuming he does indeed complete the transfer, fans will demand a new striker is pursued before 2025/2026 gets underway in a month’s time.

  1. This is a good price for Mbeumo, maybe a little over the odds but we badly need him and a big strong CF LOKE Vlahovic, that can hold up the ball. Andre or Rios would be great for Midfield but we must get Martinez for goalkeeper. He’s a leader that we need.

  2. United are desperate for a quality striker and without one they will become prime candidates for relegation we cannot live in hope that there will be three teams worse than us like last season because we were so close to going down it was squeaky bum time we cannot afford to go into next season with hojlund and zirczee as our main strikers while all the top teams are signing world class players we have only managed 1 which leaves us very vulnerable

  3. I don’t know what scouts are doing… I expected them to do more other than spending aonth on just one person… We need good midfielders we need good defenders..and we need good strikers…not just Mbeumo every day

  4. Really thought these INEOS and owners would react to us finishing 15th last season and there will be some urgency in this window to boost our squad but it took Newcastle for them to wake up and realize we could lose Mbuemo.. we should be doing the most this window but why are we surprised.
Onana that fraud once he heard we getting another his quickly recovering.. player power at our club. If we got a technical director that was in the championship, why are expecting him to be world class.. he was there for a reason.

  5. I think it is a fair offer,
Just get the deal done story is running out of Traction

  6. Mbuemo is a committed and proven good player, he will be the next Paul Scholes with speed and hard shot, get him quickly and step up options for a striker.

My advice to Manchester united is assess the want away players, Rashford, Jadon, Anthony and ganancho, these are all good players to offer depth and Team competition, on loan they proved good players, why not have a mentor to talk with them that could allow Amorin incorporate them at least for a season. The issue of allowing each new coach sale off good players it takes time to build a team with new players at times. Van vaal sold off good young players, who strived at other clubs
