Premier League-winning manager has ‘personally requested’ his club signs Man United star ASAP, INEOS want £40m

While not actively looking to offload the player, Manchester United would consider selling Rasmus Hojlund if a suitable offer arrived this summer.

It comes after a particularly lacklustre campaign from the Red Devils’ No.9, in which he scored six fewer Premier League goals (four) than he managed in his maiden season in England (10).

Even aside from his substandard returns in front of goal, there is concern amongst fans that Hojlund doesn’t show enough promise on the pitch to actually warrant having faith in him long-term. His counterpart Joshua Zirkzee, on the other hand, impressed with his silky build-up play and easy-on-the-eye footwork towards the later stages of the term.

When he was on international duty last month, Hojlund was pressed on his uncertain future at Old Trafford and responded by insisting he plans/hopes to see out his contract, which runs until 2028, plus the option of an additional year.

However, reports have suggested that the 22-year-old has privately opened the door to a potential Serie A return, having garnered interest from two of the division’s giants in the form of Inter Milan and Napoli.

Who’s interested in Hojlund?

Both clubs have been heavily linked with the striker in recent weeks, though neither has gone as far as submitting a formal bid to United. It’s thought Inter are favouring a loan with an obligation-to-buy, but INEOS are adamant about receiving an upfront fee of around £40 million.

As for the Scudetto winner’s stance, they are yet to table a proposal. The move would see Hojlund reunite with former teammate Scott McTominay, who enjoyed a new lease of life in Naples over the last year and played an integral role in their league triumph.

CaughtOffside claims that manager Antonio Conte has ‘personally requested’ that a deal be agreed for Hojlund, so fans of all sides involved should expect updates in the coming days.

  1. He’s come out publicly, and said that he intends to stay, plus it doesn’t make sense to sell him, because whoever they buy up front, they’re still going to need a back up. I believe, that with better service and support, we will see a different Hojlund. You can’t keep blaming just one player, as the whole team were just as bad.

  2. Being a young player, am so sure he shall improve this coming season and he will of great Potential to the Club Trust me guys.
