Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike has been linked with a move away from the club in recent weeks, and Manchester United have entered into talks to sign the player.

According to a report from French publication Footmercato, Manchester United are now making concrete progress in their effort to sign the player, and discussions have intensified over the last two days with the player’s representatives.

Manchester United have made contact with the Bundesliga outfit regarding a potential move as well. They have made enquiries about his potential asking price. It remains to be seen whether they can negotiate a reasonable deal to sign the highly rated attacker. He has been previously valued at €100 million.

Meanwhile, Chelsea and Liverpool are keen on the player as well. It will be interesting to see if they come forward with an offer to sign the 22-year-old attacker in the coming weeks.

He has done quite well this past season, scoring 22 goals and picking up 12 assists in all competitions. He has the attributes to develop into a top-class Premier League striker, and Manchester United would do well to secure his signature. Ekitike has been labelled as a “special” player.

Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have not been able to live up to the expectations, and their end product has been quite mediocre.

Manchester United need to bring in an upgrade if they want to return to the UEFA Champions League and fight for trophies. Ekitike could prove to be a solid investment for them. The young attacker will only improve with coaching and experience, and he could develop into a player for the Red Devils.

Regular football in England could help him improve further, and it could accelerate his development.

  1. I don’t know why Manchester United don’t want to buy Victor osimhem
This guy is a real player and you are going for a player that is impossible to get .

  2. What’s happening with players who were supposedly very keen to join us, now ending up not wanting to come here.
These players were interested in coming here without Champions League football on offer, yet as soon as someone came in for them who could offer this, they change their mind. It is now back to 3rd and 4th choices on the list, same as the last few years.
We can’t even get players out that we don’t want here, because of their high wages and demands.
It is good that we are blessed with having some top youngsters coming through (or will we move them on).
We certainly need numbers this summer and we must get a move on from the window reopening tomorrow.

  3. Why United are reportedly still chasing Gyokeres (or is the media still reporting things from 48 hours ago) when Osimhen is the ideal transfer target.
    1) he wants the Premier League
    2) Napoli want to sell him
    3) Napoli want some of our players, so a swap is possible thus getting rid of those we do not want AND reducing the cost of him coming in
    4) his reported wages are not out of the way; €12,million per year (£200,000 / week)
    5) the United fans want him

Also, the deal for Mbeumo is taking too long. Pull out, get Osimhen, the move on the a goalkeeper.
