Four weeks after being made permanent as Manchester United’s Director of Recruitment, Christopher Vivell is doing some key scouting in the build-up to the summer window.
Indeed, the Red Devils chief flew to Germany over the weekend to keep a close eye on forward Benjamin Sesko in action, watching on from the stands (MEN) as RB Leipzig overturned Wolfsburg 3-2 thanks to a brace from another rumoured United target in the form of Xavi Simons.
Sekso played the full 90 of the clash but was ultimately unable to add to his tally for the campaign, which stands at an impressive 19 goals and six assists in 40 appearances across all competitions. He finished 2023/2024 with 20 goal contributions to his name (18 goals and two assists), meaning he’s now on course to smash that record in the final fixtures of the term.
It’s not the first time United have been linked with the 21-year-old, either. He has long been a name on their shortlist, with interest even dating as far back as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s reign.
Last year looked like the most suitable time for Sesko to leave Leipzig after receiving proposals from United, Arsenal and Chelsea. However, he surprisingly decided to commit his future to the Bundesliga outfit by signing a five-year deal.
How United can capitalise on Sesko pact

In order to make the extension suit all parties, a gentleman’s agreement was included to allow for a relatively straightforward sale if the Slovenian – dubbed as having ‘shades of Erling Haaland’ in his game by the official Bundesliga site – looks to leave this year or next amid reports of him favouring a Premier League switch.
Such an arrangement means that despite Leipzig valuing their young talisman in the region of £80 million+, it may cost any interested clubs only £60m to prise him from the Red Bull Arena in the coming months.
I still hope Man.Utd. will get 1 of Gyokeres or Osimhen in this summer.
A huge overhaul is needed and we must bring in the right players.
CB, RWB, MIDFIELD, CF, NUMBER 10, all need to be filled this summer. On top of these 5 places, a goalkeeper is also a must.
6 players needed, means a lot has to go, and with the massive wages that some are getting, they won’t want to move. This again will be a big problem.
All eyes on Vivell and Wilcox this entire summer, and the media will have a ball.
The main aim is to get the right players in, and get rid of the deadwood. Where have we heard that before.
It is more important to get Amorim out. If he is allowed to buy players to fit his system 3 4 3 which has not worked with the players at his disposal, who may I add are all International players, it will not work with his own choices. Geovany decided on Chelsea because he is a winger, NOT A WINGBACK. Liverpool chose Slot over him because of his stubbornness, he is not going to change and with only one system United will struggle again next season.
Two reasons players don’t see United as an attractive proposition, their league status and Amorim. If his ex players are not excited by joining him at United what does that tell you? He was too stubborn to play the players to their strengths and leave 3 4 3 for another day, but he cannot because he has no other systems to fall back on, he is devoid of any other formations.
Sesko and Delap are the strikers we need. We need 1 AM in Cuna/Cherki (Lyon kid) and a CDM.
You talk like a fool and person who lack understand of football, the board say it and they went for it. Because of what happened this season why can’t open that blind eyes and see that most of the player’s are not good for Man Utd any Day amorim changes his idea of play that is the he fail
