Huge Carrington update: ‘Fuming’ Amorim leaves Man Utd players speechless as dire threat made

Manchester United players were reportedly given an old-fashioned training ground scolding by a ‘fuming Ruben Amorim.

The manager obviously didn’t take the beating at the hands of Newcastle United lightly, especially with a decisive second leg against Lyon coming up on Thursday.

The 40-year-old dropped Andre Onana following his nightmarish outing in France, but it didn’t exactly pay dividends, as the Red Devils were once more in disarray. The Magpies dominated the action from start to finish, pouncing on a series of blunders to prevail by four goals to one.

So according to Man Utd insider Sully, Amorim lashed out at his players in Monday’s training, giving them absolutely no room for a breather.

The Portuguese boss, who appeared to be furious with the weekend result and weak display, gave his players a ‘bullocking’ and no one dared raise their voice in objection.

“Ruben Amorim was fuming this morning and rightfully so,” posted the journalist on his X account.

“Meet and greet with kids cancelled, emergency first team meeting, players getting a huge bollocking. No one dared to speak. The Message was clear. You have until the end of the season to fix up or you’re out!”

Amorim only joined the club in the middle of the season, so he’s being forced to work with a squad largely assembled by his predecessor Erik ten Hag over the last three summer transfer campaigns. The only additions who arrived under the Portuguese’s watch were January signings Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven.

Therefore, the former Sporting CP coach has been taking this campaign as an opportunity to find out who among the current crop can fit into his 3-4-2-1 tactical system.

The management obviously lacks the resources to pull off a major summer overhaul, especially if they fail to qualify for the Champions League. Nevertheless, they can still offload several players, especially those who prove completely inapt to the new formation, or simply lack the determination to adapt.

  1. I believe that Amorim should give the team a rollicking over their performances of late. However I also believe that a little twitter here and there with the team and the system could have helped. In the second half Newcastle just wiped us away in midfield, where everyone could see that we needed extra help. Casemiro should have been brought on as an extra midfielder with 2 up front and Fernandes roaming and helping out.
He (Amorim) has to have a plan B and forget his philosophy and stubbornness to change things to win us games. Every good manager is prepared and willing to do whatever it takes to win, for the fans and team.
I really like Amorim and think he is a fantastic manager except for this reason that he is refusing to change his system to WIN a game. He should be ORDERED to do so.

    1. With only 6 games to be played before the season ends, it looks like another season is lost for Manchester United.
The only is reaching the Europa Cup and enter the Champions League final and win 🥇 it.

    2. These players have sold out every united manager they didn’t agree with. Their mentality is pathetic and so is there sense of entitlement. If I were manager I wouldn’t change anything I do for these babies, and if I got sacked at least it will be on my terms and as a result of these clowns. They NEED to know now that it’s his way and player power is a thing of the past. Stay strong Amorim!!!

  2. One of the reasons Liverpool and West Harm didn’t employed him, because no planned B and stubbornness. I don’t think ineos got it right to hired him, the club is bigger than his shoes. If giving conditions next seasons, he will sit properly.

do rezultata, narocito kad takav proces zapocinjes u pola sezone.Skoro nemoguce.Amorim mora imati veliku podrsku kluba,i veliko strpljenje vjernih navijaca
    Manchester Uniteda..

  4. He set the team up for a fail against Newcastle as he included Lindelof Erikson and Ugarte to save other players for the Lyon return game so he has to take part of the blame

  5. Amorim has no reason to fume. His selection most times are questionable. I can tell you that most times Man U plays only 9 or 10 not 11. How do you start Erik in a match against Newcastle? And then ineffective Hojlund? Ethan Nwaneri, Monga of Arsenal and Leicester City (both under 16 years in age) respectively play in the Premier league. Why is Chide-Obi restrained? I believe Amorim wants the club where it is, so that next season whatever is achieved will be remarkable when compared to the current season.

  6. The team is mediocre at best but they are supposed to be international s so the fact that they seem unable to play a different system is mind blowing a really talented player can play what ever system his manager requires so what does that say about the quality of players that Ruben is having to work with I cannot say wether he’s the right person for the job until he’s been able to get his own players around him if after that happens and he’s still cannot get the results and only then can we say he’s out of his depth and the wrong man but he won’t be the first person put in place by ineos and the glazers and probably not the last that they have got wrong

    1. Spot on Andrew this stubborn Amorim mule knows in this moment and time United cannot play or aren’t comfuwith his obsessive back 3. System do why not revert to the traditional back4. System and he can then change late during 2 half once we’ve wrapped up the games we will never win trophies with his system just Sach him today

  7. Lindelof, Onana , Erickson Hojland must be sold along with Ugarte, mount they are at best 1st.Tier quality, Tenhag. Was useless and overpaid for average Duds, Amorim must adapt to the traditional back4. System. Starting this Thursday or Radcliffe must enforce it or just sack him if he refuses the back 4. system he can always switch late during the 2ND. Half of games once we are out of reach

    1. The way you reply, shoes you don’t have enough knowledge, first of all believe that ineos is in charge, they have already started a very harsh change, and that includes the major changes at a United, also the way the team will play, it’s either u stick by it or go look for another club to support, nobody cares. Ineos knew what they were getting, infact they wanted it, this change, so if you’re waiting for the manager to change his formation then just wait until he gets sacked, don’t know how many years from now on. The traditional back four you talked about got us to 13th and we’re still in 13th. This players lacks everything, the 3421 formation is a very fluid formation, which can transform to the 433, 442 532 during the game. This players are lazy and they should be shown the door.

  8. What kind of rubbish comment is this? Ratcliffe forcing him to adapt to a back 4 because you lack the patience to let tactics work out? What does Ratcliffe or you know about football? You sit there in your house playing football with your mouth. Amorim may be stubborn sometimes but his tactics fo work and he can be adaptable when the situation requires it. He also knows how to implementing his identity so chill out and let him get players that suit his system.
