A retired Italian goalkeeper elucidates what a terrible signing Andre Onana has been for Manchester United.
The Cameroonian rose to fame during his time at Ajax and then enjoyed a sensational campaign at Inter Milan which convinced the Red Devils to shell out £51 million for his signature in the summer of 2023.
However, the 28-year-old developped a knack for committing severe blunders since his arrival at Old Trafford, a habit that has been incredibly costly for the club, especially one that is already in full crisis.
Nevertheless, Onana still occasionally produces stunning saves that leave fans and observers in awe… but not Alberto Fontana.
The 56-year-old is a retired custodian who represented a host of Serie A clubs during his lengthy career, including Palermo, as well as Onana’s former club Inter.

Onana is a clown, and has lost us more points than he has won for us. His kicking is terrible and his decision making is not good either. He makes easy saves look spectacular to win the fans over, but we need to sell him and bring in a better keeper this summer.

Hear hear. A complete clown who messses about trying to beat the opposition in the penalty area and then boots it into touch. When he saves he oats the ball into the on running forwards rather than putting a strong hand or punching it round the corner out of harms way.

Sell De Gea and Henderson for Onana. Man U has been awful in the marketplace. Really really awful decisions. Watching Wanbissaka and Rashford yesterday delivering the goods for their new clubs just underscored how poorly, transfers have been managed at the club.

I understand you guys comment perfectly well, some decisions have been made in the past that is affecting man united. I believe that that time I enjoyed been a manunited fan, post Fergie era was during Ole’s time. I also hate the fact that De gea was let go at the wrong time. For example Bruno Fernandez, yes I know what you are thinking he is doing well. But have you asked yourself his contributions apart from the 1 goal/assist in 6matches. Someone that will not mark and loose passes so cheaply. Causing pressure on our defense. Someone should try and analyze his play in 90min and the effect of his decision making on our defense. Another example is Dalot, just like his brother Bruno, he is not a man united kind of player. Remember before dalot came, more than 30% of goals conceded this season is from is left wing. But with dorgu on the left now, it as suddenly shifted to the right side. And we call dalot a player, defense/attack zero.
Also we have other players like casemiro who as pass his prime but does not want to leave man united.
Ask yourself, maguire, Mason mount that can not stay fit, shaw that is unfortunate with is injury in that year.

De Gea was our best goalie by far, but HTH was looking to get his friends not the best players at Man U. Am really pissed by the awkwardness we are in. No improvement. Get Rudi Van Niestroy back, sack Amourin and recruit back Michael Carrick
I disagree with all the comments negative about Onana am not his fan in anyway but the problem of the mighty team Man U is the mindset of the players. Even though they bring the Coach from heaven if those players can not change and play what the game demands Man U will be relegated and come back as the real Man U we want.
