Erik ten Hag spotted back in Manchester three weeks after sacking

Erik ten Hag was spotted back in Manchester on Monday night – on the same day as Ruben Amorim’s first training session at Carrington.

The media continued to try to follow Ten Hag’s every move after photographers snapped the former Manchester United manager at a classic Italian restaurant in Hale.

These photos, as shown below, originally appeared on the Daily Mail website.

After a terrible start to the 2024/25 season, Ten Hag was sacked following a 2-1 defeat to West Ham at the London Stadium.

It is understood that the Dutchman immediately returned to the Netherlands.

United decided to name Ruud van Nistelrooy as interim boss for a four-game period. While he helped stopped the rot with three wins and a draw, new head coach Ruben Amorim has decided to move on without the former United striker as part of his coaching staff.

Ten Hag has been pictured three weeks after his United sacking as he dined at Piccolino with his wife Bianca. They were spotted leaving the restaurant in snowy conditions on Monday night.

We can only presume that Ten Hag is back in Manchester to visit his residence, as he’ll need to clear out his possessions.

What next for Erik ten Hag?

When it was decided that Ten Hag would be given a one-year extension in the summer, most fans assumed he would remain in charge for the full season at the very least.

The two trophies he won in as many years didn’t save him because poor results continued domestically and in Europe.

Although it didn’t work out at Old Trafford, Ten Hag will have no shortage of offers in the future. There will always be links to Ajax but he could still join one of the bigger clubs due to his track record of winning trophies.

Ten Hag has yet to give an interview to the media about his intentions for the future.
