Randal Kolo Muani has been linked with a move to Manchester United since his time at Eintracht Frankfurt.
The France international signed for Paris Saint-Germain in 2023 but things haven’t quite gone to plan for the striker.
PSG manager Luis Enrique has shown little intention of making him the starting No. 9 and that has created scoop for speculation pieces, linking Kolo Muani with a move away from Paris.
So far this season, Kolo Muani has played only 416 minutes across all competitions.
The lack of game time will only fuel more transfer speculation and Kolo Muani has been linked with a January exit.
According to Caught Offside, United are still seriously interested in Kolo Muani as they look to bolster their striker department in the new year.
A report from TBR Football claims that intermediaries have been in touch with several Premier League clubs – Man City, United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Newcastle – to seek interest in the PSG forward.
Kolo Muani has spoken about the difficulties he has faced at PSG and it sounds like he’s conducting himself in a professional manner, despite things not working out in his favour.
“You have to keep the mental side,” Kolo Muani said (via Yahoo!). “It is up to me to continue to work so that the manager trusts in me. I am keeping my head on my shoulders and I’m going to continue to work. Afterward, he was directly asked whether he still has the hope of establishing himself at PSG: “I hope so.”
Randal Kolo Muani is not what Manchester United need
We are talking about a striker who hasn’t had a decent season since 2022/23.
With two goals in 11 games this season, I don’t see anything to suggest we would be signing an upgrade on either Rasmus Hojlund or Joshua Zirkzee.
Kolo Muani doesn’t compare to other players being linked with a move to United.
Take Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres as an example. The Swede is Europe’s most sought-after striker. How on earth does a bench warmer at PSG become an alternative option?
