Manchester United handed triple training boost ahead of PAOK clash

Manchester United were handed a triple boost at training this morning as the players prepared to face PAOK in the Europa League.

The headline grabber will be Leny Yoro’s return to first-team training after suffering a fractured metatarsal injury in pre-season.

The teenage French defender, who has yet to make his competitive debut for the club, joined United from Lille for £58 million in the summer.

United beat Real Madrid, PSG and Liverpool to Yoro’s signature and his availability will be a huge boost.

However, Yoro will not be available for games under Ruud van Nistelrooy. There is no way he will be rushed back and it’ll likely be left up to Ruben Amorim to introduce him to the Premier League.

Amorim’s first game is against Ipswich Town after the November international break.

There was more good news at training this morning because Christian Eriksen and Antony were back among the action. They might be in contention to feature against PAOK but we won’t know until Van Nistelrooy speaks to the press later today.

Teenage defenders Daniel Arner and Jack Kingdon were also involved, while Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw are still absent from first team duties due to injury.

Marcus Rashford was seen training individually with a coach before linking up with his team-mates.

This will be Van Nistelrooy’s third match as interim manager. United have won one and drawn one since he took charge after Erik ten Hag’s sacking.

United need to win on Thursday night if they want to finish in the top eight of this season’s Europa League table. Ten Hag failed to win any of his three games in charge after draws with FC Twente, FC Porto and Fenerbahce.
