Erik ten Hag spoke to the media at Carrington this afternoon and provided a positive update on Manchester United right-back Noussair Mazraoui.

It was confirmed by the club on Thursday that the Morocco right-back, who missed the October international break due to to requiring a minor heart procedure, had returned to training with his team-mates.

United also stated that Amad Diallo and Alejandro Garnacho all took part in the training session too, after missing out on international duty like Mazraoui.

A lot of the press and people on social media exaggerated the seriousness of Mazraoui’s condition, but Ten Hag brought more good news our way this afternoon by stressing the Moroccan defender is available for selection against Brentford at Old Trafford on Saturday.

“Injuries do not help, for sure, you need players available to perform,” Ten Hag told reporters after suffering countless injuries during the disappointing 2023/24 campaign, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News.

“Kobbie and Harry are out for a couple of weeks, but Mazraroui is good news. He has returned on the training pitch and is available for tomorrow.”

Mazraoui experienced palpitations in the scoreless draw with Aston Villa prior to the international break and was forced off at half-time. He was expected to be ruled out for a few weeks but he has recovered quicker than club staff imagined he would.

United fans haven’t seen Luke Shaw or Tyrell Malacia this season due to injuries.

Both are recovering and Malacia was pictured training with the team at Carrington on Thursday.

Ten Hag was asked about the left-back duo and when fans can expect to see them both back in contention to play for United.

The manager gave a not too promising response, adding: “We can’t force their return and have to do it clever. We don’t want them to return and quickly drop out, but of course, we hope they come back as soon as possible because this team needs to a left-full back.”
