  1. There was some lovely stuff played under Ole – we’ll always have Paris – and I think he’ll make a great Manager somewhere. But of course it ended badly at OT, the rumours then being the same as now, viz: problems with the squad attitude. Not fully committed to the cause, unhappy with tough training, no one geeing up the others as was the case under SAF. Only rumours, as I say, but if true, OGS couldn’t sort it, ETH has been unable to so far, so one wonders who could. Would have to be some winner who could storm in there, saying: right, I know I’m good, and so does everyone else. You players are the problem, step up or ship out.

    1. But the players are not the same and the ones that were ole’s main guys (Bruno, rashford) have been given new contracts under ETH including the captaincy.

The players are good players. Certainly good enough to challenge for. Top 5 maybe not 4.

Fact is that ole was also a poor manager and we exacerbated those lost 3 years with employing an even worse manager.

ETH is out of his depth in the PL.

I recommend watching the recent joe Tomlinson video on United to see just how bad ETH is.

      1. Players change, but not necessarily the ethos of the dressing-room; if one comes new to a workplace where there is negativity, is is very easy to get brought down. Players changed under SAF, of course, but he instilled a fighting spirit and new-comers were quickly made aware of the requirements. Ask Rio about his early experience with Roy Keane! A poor Manager would not have been able to coach a team to a 3-1 away win against PSG, I believe we may still be the only Team to recover from losing the home leg by a 2-goal margin.
But results ultimately fell of a cliff, the same has happened under ETH, which leads me to wonder about the players themselves. But, as I posted, ETH has not so far managed to resolve this so we need someone who can.

        1. I think theplayers thought correctly may I add that it was a joke to have someone like ole in charge. Must be very frustrating to watch your rivals have real managers. He also set the tone for heavy defeats. He was unprepared d that’s not acceptable.

It’s slightly different with ETH. he seems to be poor in even more ways. I doubt the players like his style and communication. Least ole had that I believe. But ETH is arguably worse than ole so again I think the players are just shocked that they have a rubbish manager. Clearly out of his depth. Players need to believe in their manager. When Bournemouth and Brighton have a better manager and your a united player it must drag you down. It would in any industry.

        2. I think you are reading too much into the PSG game David & in so doing you miss out the point on how counterproductive Ole’s tenure was.The new manager bounce is a reality & I attribute this more to that PSG victory than Ole’s tactical genius. The guy did bring a breath of fresh air given the toxicity that Mou’s reign had created & we did witness decent performances. But check how results & performances plummeted when Ole was given a permanent contract.it seems the players weren’t anticipating such a move & I don’t think I’ll be off the mark if I suggest that they were fine with Ole as an interim not substantive manager.i suspect they didn’t rate him highly. As nice a guy as he is it’s fair to say Ole isn’t an elite manager by any means.Just check out how he was tactically outmaneuvered by Unai Emry’s Yellow Submarines in that Europa Cup final for example.Man U needs a proper upgrade if they want to get to get rid of Ten Hag & it’s unfortunate that most managers currently being linked with job are very questionable to say the least.

  2. I think there is still passion with OGS. With his loyalty and love with OT and MU, I think he deserves another chance at OT. Loves and passion can improve a person he was a legend with MU DNA. I just love to see him getting another chance to manage MU again.
