Manchester United and Liverpool are seemingly on the hunt for a similar profile when it comes to potential fullback acquisitions.

Already, both clubs have been linked with Bournemouth’s 20-year-old Milos Kerkez, with Liverpool’s interest thought to stem from sporting director Richard Hughes, who brought the youngster to the Vitality Stadium during his Cherries tenure.

Now, the two arch-rivals have reportedly shortlisted £40 million-valued Antonee Robinson following a campaign in which he was named Fulham’s Player of the Year upon its culmination.

The ‘superb’ Milton Keynes-born defender, who represents the United States at international level, has consistently been a standout performer for the Cottagers, having already tallied two assists in five outings this season thus far. He was tied down to a long-term contract extension only last year, so is technically bound to the club until 2028.

Liverpool plot winter swoop for Robinson

That’s unless he or Fulham are able to be swayed with a lucrative offer, though, and judging by today’s report from TeamTalk, a proposal could be heading their way as soon as January.

Indeed, Liverpool are hoping to test the West London outfit’s resolve with a mid-season offer in hopes of beating United to his signature. Arne Slot and Co. are drawing up plans to find a suitable successor to fan-favourite Andy Robertson, while INEOS chiefs are aware that they cannot rely on Luke Shaw long-term due to his never-ending injury setbacks.
