Christian Eriksen’s inclusion in Manchester United’s starting XI this afternoon raised the eyebrows of supporters.
The experienced Dane was given the nod over both Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte, the latter of which is awaiting his maiden outing for the club, while the former has been dropped following his disastrous showing in the first half of the Liverpool defeat on September 1.
Yet, Eriksen has repaid his manager’s faith early doors. He linked up with Amad Diallo, who deservedly returned to the starting 11 this week in place of Alejandro Garnacho, to produce a superb phase of link-up play, which should’ve resulted in a goal.
Eriksen delivered an inch-perfect pass into Joshua Zirkzee, who was able to get on the end of it with a touch that was nowhere near powerful enough, leaving Aaron Ramsdale able to collect the ball safely.
