Manchester United started the new Premier League season with a 1-0 win over Fulham at Old Trafford.
Joshua Zirkzee debuted off the bench to score the only goal, with a brilliant finish in the final minutes of the game.
Here are our player ratings from the first win over the season.
Andre Onana – 6
Made a brilliant save to deny Keny Tete’s effort from distance in the first half. His distribution let him down at times.
Noussair Mazraoui – 7
Really good debut. Tidy on the ball and made a crucial intervention from Adama Traore’s cross.
Harry Maguire – 7
Dominant in the air and led from the back as he often drove forward with the ball in the first half. Looked like he took a knock before being replaced by Jonny Evans in the second half.
Lisandro Martinez – 6
Not his best performance but made a crucial clearance at the end.
Diogo Dalot – 5
Struggled on the opposite flank. Didn’t offer enough going forward.
Casemiro – 6
Didn’t look as exposed in United’s midfield due to our shape. Better.
Kobbie Mainoo – 6
Calm on the ball and a lot of our attacking play in the first-half came through him, but didn’t have the influence he wanted on the game.
Amad Diallo – 6
Like Mainoo, he would have aimed to have had a bigger impact on the game. It wasn’t his night.
Mason Mount – 5
Good off the ball with his sheer determination to press, but often wasteful in possession. Should have scored in the 53rd minute.
Marcus Rashford – 5
Failed to convert a chance on goal and wasn’t selfish enough when he teed up Alejandro Garnacho towards the end. We need to see more from him.
Bruno Fernandes – 7
May not have been his best night, but everything in the final third came through Fernandes. He was our spark before Zirkzee’s introduction.
Subs
Joshua Zirkzee – 8
Match winner.
Alejandro Garnacho – 7
Assisted Zirkzee but wasted a glorious chance to make it 2-0.
Jonny Evans – N/A
Matthijs de Ligt – N/A
Scott McTominay – N/A
