Man United star could demand £25m to leave, showdown talks with ETH this week

Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has been linked with a move away from the club this summer.

The 32-year-old Brazilian international could move on amid interest from multiple clubs. Manchester United have already identified a potential replacement in Manuel Ugarte, but a deal for the Uruguayan international is proving to be difficult because of Casemiro’s reluctance to leave without a pay-off.

A report from the Mirror claims that the Brazilian is demanding a substantial pay-off this summer and Manchester United might need to pay around £25 million to get rid of him. The midfielder is the highest earner at the club with wages of around £290,000 a week. His representatives will hold talks with Erik ten Hag this week in order to discuss his future.

Man United must cash in on Casemiro

It will be interesting to see how the situation develops. There is no doubt that Casemiro is a top-quality player but he was not at his best last season. His performances were quite underwhelming and he is unlikely to get better at 32. It would be wise of Manchester United to sell the player this summer and bring in a quality replacement.

Ugarte seems like the ideal fit for the Red Devils, and it remains to be seen whether they can get the deal done.

The report further claims that Manchester United are unwilling to sanction a substantial pay-off for the Brazilian midfielder this summer because they will need to comply with the PSR regulations. Manchester United will have to bring in their own signings as well, and they cannot afford to overspend.
