A decision will soon be made on the future of Erik ten Hag, but it remains to be seen what direction Manchester United will take following an end-of-season review.
The new football executive team must decide if they believe in Ten Hag’s approach or if the team will benefit from new ideas.
If you believe what is being reported elsewhere, Ten Hag has backers within United’s new hierarchy. There has also been a significant push from fans to see the Dutchman remain as manager for a third season. It is understood that Ineos are aware of the support for Ten Hag within United’s fanbase.
It remains to be seen how long the end-of-season review will take. No deadline has been set and there are indications that it could run on for days before an announcement is made on Ten Hag’s future.
According to The Telegraph, there are four key areas being considered in the season review, and they include: results and performance, playing style and tactics, dressing room relations, as well as credentials and cost of potential replacements.
The decision to sack Ten Hag was undoubtedly made tricker over the weekend when United lifted the FA Cup for the 13th time, as our manager collected his second trophy in as many years.
Ten Hag has brought success to United. Without any outstanding candidates to succeed him, why make this summer more complicated by switching managers? It doesn’t make a lot of sense and would take a lot of explaining for fans to get onside.
The longer it drags out the worse it will get in regards to media speculation.

Erick teng hag has to be in Manchester united touch line next season he has bring us joy and happiness with both players around him we are as Manchester united fan’s proud of him and the players
Seems to me he fails in all 4 categories
The idea that Ten Hag has brought success to United is risible. Winning the EFL and FA Cup is not success in United terms, they are the consolation prizes for once again for the easily pleased,
being also-rans in the league.
It is only the league and the European competitions that really count and after the worst season in BOTH in 35 years no manager has deserved to be released more than Ten Hag
He complains of injuries but Van Gaal faced a worse injury situation and produced better results than Ten Hag. Further to that he has wasted hundreds of millions on unsuitable players has clearly failed to motivate the squad, has no appreciable style of play and failed to adapt to the problems he faced for most of the season and of late has failed to act in a manner that the face of a global sporting brand should.
Worse still is the fact that if one considers just about every metric, Ten Hag has taken United backwards this season and a long way backwards. It has been a terrible season.
And its not as if there are not good options out there. How is Thomas Tuchel, UCL Winner, titles in two countries, trophies in 3 with 4 clubs, and expert in qualifying for UCL (9 consecutive seasons) not good enough? Turn your nose up at managers with Tuchel’s credentials and you’ll be waiting for the reincarnation of Fergie. Meanwhile Ten Hag will find his next excuse (he never accepts blame)
Like him or not Tuchel’s credentials are considerably superior to Ten Hag’s and the last thing we need is to have go through another lacklustre season like this one with all the damage it has done only to be back here next May when Ten Hag’s contract expires. There is no guarantee which managers will be around then just as there is no guarantee that Ten Hag has anything better to offer.
He needs to go and get Tuchel in.
Pep guardiola himself could come out and say he wanted the job and dale would still say there are no suitable candidates – of this i have no doubt.
There are many candidates that would be an upgrade, also ETH was considered perfect – 8th in his second season with a GD of -1. united have scored 57/58 in 2 seasons.
the ferguson argument that gets used is stupid, maybe if liverpool didnt fire hodgson then maybe he would have been the new shankly.
by the 4 criteria ETH is a failure,
results – abysmal, this guy lost 7-0 to liverpool even before this seasons shocker.
playing style – there is none, he can win with a low block, well so can many managers – he was hired to implement an attacking pressing possession style, like ajax, he has obv failed.
dressing room – he has fallen out with many players.
he will be fired end of week or early next latest.
let’s give him humble time,
I sympathy’s with him over
injuries to his players
even though UTD want a new manager,no one will do better than ten hag.first season trophy, second season trophy.ten hag needs time
Yaa bcz no coach archive what ten hag Did at manchester united look first season what he did without good players around him ,if l was the owner of club l will keep him as manager of club because the way he handle things it’s masterclass
ETH should stay at united. There’s no doubt about that.
He should stay. Plain and simple
