Raphael Varane said goodbye to Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

The French defender is still ruled out with an injury, but he made sure to say goodbye to the Manchester United fans after the final home game of the season.

United have one Premier League match left to play – away to Brighton – before another trip to Wembley for the FA Cup final against Man City.

Varane missed last night’s 3-2 win over Newcastle but took part in the lap of appreciation at full-time. It was announced on Tuesday night that the World Cup winner will exit the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Issuing a message of appreciation to United fans, Varane took to Instagram after the match. He wrote: “Old Trafford, thank you.”
