Marcus Rashford gives positive update after Manchester United’s latest injury setback

Marcus Rashford was forced off early during the 2-2 draw against Liverpool on Sunday.

The forward has eased Manchester United’s injury concerns after responding to a supporter on Instagram who asked if he was ‘okay’, before Rashford confirmed that it isn’t a long-term injury.

“I will be okay,” Rashford wrote.

Erik ten Hag likes to keep his cards close to his chest when it comes to injuries. We rarely get specific updates or hear when players are getting closer to their return date, so it comes as a relief on Tuesday morning that Rashford is likely to be fit to face Bournemouth this weekend.

That said, it can be difficult for a manager to say anything about an injury directly after a game since it’s often impossible to get a diagnosis until 24 hours have passed.

Ten Hag will speak to the press on Friday afternoon, but the club may decide to give an update on Rashford’s injury before then.

Rashford’s early substitution wasn’t the only injury blow for United on Sunday. The Reds were already without Raphael Varane, Jonny Evans and Scott McTominay.

The biggest worry with Rashford’s injury was whether it is something he has been carrying for some time, or is it serious. At least he’ll be okay.
