Jurgen Klopp is not pleased after Sunday afternoon’s clash between his Liverpool side and Manchester United, with a late penalty from Mohamed Salah ensuring the points were shared at Old Trafford.

Klopp’s men took the lead in the first half but United scored two stunning goals to turn it around before Salah scored the penalty.

It’s a familiar story for United this season, with late goals being the recurring theme, especially in big games. For Liverpool, the draw will be seen as two huge points dropped as the Anfield club missed out on claiming top spot in the Premier League with seven games to go.

Speaking after the game, Klopp was far from impressed by what he saw from the hosts, admitting he’s not optimistic United will do them any favours in the title race when Arsenal make the trip to Old Trafford later this season.

“Arsenal is a good football team. If Man United play like they did today, Arsenal will win the game,” Klopp said, according to Fabrizio Romano. “I am 100% sure of that,” he added.

The 2-2 draw on Sunday means that Klopp has only got the better of Ten Hag once in the five times they have gone head-to-head since the Dutchman was appointed in 2022. Furthermore, the German manager has failed to come out on top in each of the three times they have faced each other this season.

Arsenal have not won at Old Trafford since 2020 but will be making the trip to Manchester as the favourites, with Mikel Arteta’s men enjoying their strongest spell of the season so far.

United have almost certainly missed out on qualifying for next season’s Champions League but will still be looking to keep some type of momentum ahead of a potential FA Cup final.

Liverpool, who had their hopes of winning the FA Cup squashed by United last month, are second to Arsenal on goal difference in the Premier League.
