‘About to boil over’: United star blasted by media after his ‘screams’ were heard ‘through the press boxes’

Rasmus Hojlund had an incredibly frustrating night on international duty for Denmark on Saturday evening.

The Manchester United star was deployed from the offset for his nation’s friendly at home to Switzerland, with fellow Red Christian Eriksen anchoring the midfield at Parken Stadium.

He featured for 84 minutes as the two sides fought to break the deadlock in what proved to be a tightly-contested clash. Hojlund has only just returned from a brief injury layoff, which saw him miss four club matches, so he’ll have been keen to reignite the red-hot goalscoring form that he was in prior to the setback.

Alas, he couldn’t do so last night, which led to his temper flaring and consequently catching the eye of numerous reporters watching the game. One Danish outlet, BT, gave the 21-year-old a rating of just 2/6, adding: “He looks like someone who is about to boil over every time things go wrong.

“And when he ran off alone under pressure to just be played around, his furious ‘Come on in!’ screams could be heard all the way through the press boxes. And you understood the frustrations during the match, because it never became dangerous for Højlund today, even though he was played in a few promising situations.”

Hojlund has quickly become pne of Denmark’s main men

In truth, the contest offered nothing but bragging rights for the two nations, though these friendlies are useful as warm-ups ahead of this summer’s Euros. Hojlund will likely play a vital role for Denmark throughout the tournament, having already done so during the qualifying stage; he scored seven goals in 10 matches to secure his side’s first-place finish in Group H.
