Facundo Pellistri has mixed feelings about Granada loan spell

Manchester United loanee Facundo Pellistri has mixed feelings about his loan spell at Granada.

The Uruguay international joined Granada on loan in the January transfer window in an attempt to get regular playing time at a high level.

Pellistri is currently on international duty but he was asked about his stint with the La Liga outfit, who sacked manager Alexander Medina earlier this month.

“At the club we are going through a complicated time, but football is like that, there are good and bad moment and you have to be quick to change the chip and bring good energy here,” Pellistri told AUF TV, as quoted by ESPN.

“When I return to the club, we have to continue with the best of energy to achieve our objectives, and try to do our best here.”

Granada replaced Medina with Jose Ramon Sandoval, so Pellistri will need to impress another manager between now and the end of the season.

Pellistri will hope things pick up for the Spanish side, but they look destined for relegation this season. He is happy to be getting minutes on the pitch but feels ‘sad’ about where the team is right now.

“I’m getting a lot of minutes in Granada,” he added. “I’m happy about that part, but sad about how the level of the group is going, we all want to achieve the objective the objective, there are still chances: as long as those chances are there, we’re going o keep fighting.”

Pellistri faces uncertain future at Manchester United

The Uruguayan was often overlooked by Ten Hag earlier this season – and, I don’t see that changing next season if he were to return.

That is why I think Pellistri could be sold at the end of the season. Amad Diallo warrants more opportunities and I think the Ivorian is ahead of the temporary Granada star.
