Manchester United loanee sees manager sacked shortly after joining Granada

Manchester United winger Facundo Pellisri has enjoyed regular game time on loan at Granada, but poor results on the pitch mean they look destined to suffer relegation.

There have been positive reports regarding Pellistri’s performance, but he is unable to single-handedly save them when his team-mates aren’t meeting the same standards.

After making six appearances for Granada, Pellistri has yet to experience a win and they are now 13 points adrift of safety.

This could be the second time Pellistri suffers relegation in Spain, having gone down with Alaves back in 2022.

Pellistri will hope that Alexander Medina’s replacement – Jose Ramon Sandoval – keeps him in the team, but the new manager faces an almost impossible task to keep Granada in the top division.

“The Granada Football Club and coach Alexander Medina terminate the contract that bound them,” reads a statement on the official Granada website.

“The Club thanks Medina for his commitment and wishes him the best of luck in his professional future, as well as his coaching staff.”
