Intense training demands contribute to recurring Casemiro injury

Casemiro will miss Manchester United’s FA Cup quarter-final clash with Liverpool due to a recurrence of a hamstring injury.

The 32-year-old, who performed dreadfully in last week’s win over Everton, missed two-and-a-half months of action earlier in the season with a hamstring problem.

As a result, Casemiro has pulled out of the Brazil squad ahead of friendly matches against England and Spain. He now misses our cup clash against Liverpool.

Dressing room sources have reportedly told the Manchester Evening News that the intense demands of United’s training sessions have contributed to Casemiro’s latest setback.

That is a direct complaint about the workload put on the players, but they do play for United where you should be expected to work the hardest.

Casemiro’s latest setback is the 51st separate case of injury or illness that has caused a United player to miss a match this season. It sets us back further but hopefully the other players can stand up in the Brazilian’s absence.
