Mason Mount in contention to make squad for Liverpool clash

Mason Mount could make his eagerly awaited Manchester United return tomorrow after four months in the treatment room.

The £60 million summer signing from Chelsea has so far failed to find his feet at Old Trafford.

With injuries hindering his first season at United, the pressure is on Mount to perform once he gets back fit.

A calf problem in November has kept him out of action for months. He has only managed to make 12 appearances so far for the Reds and has yet to find the back of the net since his arrival.

According to The Sun, Mount is set to be included in the squad for the FA Cup quarter-final clash with Liverpool after training for the past few days with no issues.

Furthermore, the 25-year-old will not rule out his chances of making the England squad for Euro 2024 this summer. He will hope that by returning this weekend or after the March international break he’s got enough time to prove himself to Gareth Southgate.

Mount’s last appearance for United came in a 1-0 defeat to Liverpool on November 11. This weekend he could mark his return against the Scousers.
