‘There will be some changes’: Treble winner makes Ten Hag prediction having been ‘around the club’

Manchester United legend Wes Brown has shared his verdict on the current speculation regarding Erik ten Hag’s long-term safety in the dugout.

As soon as Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s 28 per cent stake in the club was confirmed, questions quickly began to be asked over whether he would keep the Dutch boss beyond the current campaign, which – as it stands – will go down as a lacklustre one.

The only ways that Ten Hag could salvage something from the season is if he leads the team to glory in the FA Cup or somehow claims a top-four finish, although a fifth-placed one may do if the Premier League are granted another Champions League place.

Securing another piece of silverware in the sophomore term of his tenure would certainly silence most of his critics, while his Carabao Cup win in 2022/2023 will have given him some credit in the bank with Ratcliffe and co.

Brown, a treble winner with the club, had his say on the matter, explaining (via DAZN): “I think the new owners will keep faith with Erik ten Hag.

“Obviously, it’s very hard when new people come in because they’re going to have their own views on how the football club is run, but I can tell you from being around the club a little bit that the owners have been very positive. I do feel like there will be some changes, particularly with some of the players, but I also think that they will give the manager time.

“It’s a tough one – Manchester United have had some legendary managers over the past 11 years and are yet to really get back to where they want to be, but I’d like to see Erik ten Hag stay and try and build a team – his team. He deserves it after the season he had last year.”
