Manchester United interested in Italian teen sensation Francesco Camarda

Manchester United’s scouts have identified 16-year-old forward Francesco Camarda as a transfer target following his remarkable rise to senior status in Serie A.

That’s according to a report by Gazzetta dello Sport that claims the 20-time Premier League champions have ‘joined the race’ for the Milan-born Italian youth international.

Remarkably, despite turning 16 on Sunday (March 10), the Italian has already featured on two occasions for Stefano Pioli’s side, with both of his senior appearances coming at the age of 15.

His talents have been evident for some time, with an imposing frame and physical stature beyond his years. An exceptional striker’s ability has been present from an early age, as he managed a staggering 485 goals in only 89 matches for AC Milan’s academy, resulting in an average of 5.45 goals per game.

At 14, he was introduced to the side’s under-19 crop and showcased his talent by scoring two goals in a friendly win against the Eccellenza team Solbiatese. Inevitably, He was rewarded for his commendable progression when making his debut against Fiorentina in November 2023, becoming the youngest Serie A player ever at 15 years and 260 days.

The young hitman remains one of the most sought-after prospects throughout Europe, with German giants Borussia Dortmund reportedly already battling Manchester City for his signature. Despite the widespread interest, post-Brexit rules would deny Camarda the opportunity to join a Premier League club until he turns 18.

Let us know what you think about the prospect of this exciting Italian joining the ranks in Manchester. Could the Old Trafford faithful have another Federico Macheda or Giuseppe Rossi on their hands?
