Manchester United loanee Jadon Sancho has admitted that his individual performances since making his return to Borussia Dortmund haven’t been of the required standard – and he has disappointed a few people with underwhelming performances.

Perhaps Sancho has realised that he needs to make a few apologies, but then as I read more of his quotes, I noticed he was only speaking about his return to the Signal Iduna Park rather than the months spent at Carrington after being rightly banished from first-team activities for speaking out of turn about the manager on social media.
Some people will take sides, especially in this day and age where some of the younger generation appear to support the idea of players over football clubs.
However, Sancho had a spring in his step over the weekend after scoring his first goal on loan at Dortmund. The 23-year-old went around a Werder Bremen defender before finding the back of the net from a tight angle.
Sancho spoke to Dortmund club media and insisted that despite re-opening his account for the Bundesliga club, he was not pleased with his overall performance.
“It felt good,” Sancho said about scoring. “It took a while, but I stayed patient. I had a feeling this week that I was going to score. I stayed positive, even if my performance didn’t always show it and I’ve disappointed some people a bit in recent weeks.
“I’m not entirely satisfied with the game in Bremen either; I could’ve played better and contributed more. But we got the three points; that’s the most important thing.”
In a follow up question, Sancho was asked about the pressure he is facing at Dortmund as well as the faith put in him by manager Edin Terzic.
Sancho added: “You always have pressure. In my first spell at BVB. I registered a goal involvement in almost every match. So I can understand that the fans expect a lot of me. I do from myself too. I could also accept it if some people were angry with me. I want to continue to improve for the team.”
Dortmund are back in action tonight in the Champions League for a huge match against Dutch opposition PSV Eindhoven. The two teams go into the second leg with a 1-1 aggregate.
