‘Are you going to save one or what?’ – Man United player slammed Andre Onana

Andre Onana faced non-stop criticism from the outside world due to his lackluster start of his Manchester United career, where his errors ultimately led to a catastrophic Champions League campaign.

He was unable to avoid the careful monitoring of his teammates at Carrington, as their annoyance was evident to everybody.

After a terrible start to his Red Devils career, Onana is starting to show his abilities. Since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations last month, his performances have considerably improved.

However, earlier in the season, the 27-year-old frequently tried the patience of both his teammates and the fans with his many mistakes, which resulted in one of the younger players blasting him during a training session.

A young player who had hardly appeared in a first-team match reportedly said, “Are you going to save one or what?” on his perception that Onana was not blocking enough shots during a training session, as reported by The Athletic.

After some of those appalling performances, the former Inter Milan player left his colleagues in doubt, with some wondering why manager Erik ten Hag let Spanish goalkeeper David de Gea leave.

Onana’s performance has improved recently. With seven victories, two losses, and one draw thus far in 2024, he is without a doubt one of Erik ten Hag’s best players.

Although his first Premier League season has not gone as planned, De Gea, Alisson, and Ederson all had difficult first seasons in the English top tier before rising to prominence.

Let’s hope Onana can replicate the success of all those goalkeepers in the Premier League.
