Sir Jim Ratcliffe set to make ruthless move by cutting 300 Man United jobs

According to reports, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is getting ready to drastically restructure the operations of Manchester United at the start of his tenure, perhaps eliminating up to 25% of the team’s workforce.

With his £1.3 billion investment last month, the founder of INEOS secured a 27.7% share at Old Trafford, leaving him with a sizable amount of influence.

United have about 1200 workers on its books, which is a significant amount of workers and highest in the Premier League by some distance.

Less than a thousand people work for Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool—all three teams that are exceptional this season.

Ratcliffe and INEOS have established a reputation for prioritising quality above quantity by dismantling businesses when they acquire them.

And it appears that things will not be any different at United, where hundreds of employees are now reportedly worried for their jobs as the club enters a new chapter.

Ratcliffe intends to eliminate up to 25% of the present workforce in M16, or about 300 people, according to the Mirror.

The 71-year-old is rumoured to be eager to cut costs in United’s overworked departments.

To help with the proposed overhaul of the club, he is rumoured to be hiring one of the top experts in the world.

Furthermore, it is claimed that the Glazer family supports his position that, following ten years of poor performance, United would gain from streamlining its operations.

As per the report, Ratcliffe has requested that the review’s main focus be on United’s match-day, merchandising and commercial departments.

As has reportedly been the case with rivals Man City in recent years, he is claimed to think that a smaller workforce fosters greater accountability, responsibility, and inventive ideas.
