Man United decide to sell 22-year-old, several clubs ready to make a move for him

HITC reports that Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood is a target of both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

The 22-year-old has played for Getafe on loan from Man United, who are monitoring his progress, as new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe said last month.

Although HITC are aware that Man United intend to sell Greenwood this summer, Jim Ratcliffe created the possibility of a return, which not only strengthened the club’s position in negotiations but also gave his suitors hope that they could corner United and get a better deal.

Intermediaries are in the process of holding talks, and from what HITC have heard, the player has expressed his desire to stay in Spain, where he has had a successful season with Getafe.

Mason Greenwood has eight goals and five assists in 26 appearances across all competitions for the Spanish club, who are 11th in the La Liga standings.

Getafe are aware that their only realistic chance of signing him is probably through a subsequent loan, which United may take into consideration if the permanent bids fall short of their expectations.

While both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are moving forward with their preparations for the upcoming campaign, they both value Greenwood and consider him to be among the best young attackers in Europe, therefore they want to seize the opportunity to sign him.

Greenwood’s future at United is more or less over with the fans wanting him to be sold due to his controversial past.

The former England player’s international career could soon be resurrected after he was given an offer by the Jamaican manager to play for the country his father belonged to.
