(Video) Fernandes and Onana make admirable gesture towards away end after derby defeat

Manchester United suffered an eleventh defeat in the Premier League this afternoon, with Man City winning the derby 3-1 at the Etihad.

Marcus Rashford opened the scoring with a screamer after 8 minutes of play.

United battled through the first-half as a unit and fans had every reason to be optimistic going into the second-half.

Our organisation in defence was short-live, though. It was only a matter of time before City forced a comeback.

Phil Foden rivalled Rashford’s strike with a stunning finish of his own to make it 1-1. He then made it 2-1 in the 80th minute.

It was Erling Haaland that sealed the win for City in stoppage time.

After the game, club captain Bruno Fernandes stayed behind to acknowledge the away fans for seven minutes, as per Laurie Whitwell of The Athletic. The Portugal international was joined by Onana and other players followed suit.

It’s an admirable gesture and something that should happen after every away game.
