Injury crisis continues: Pivotal United star spotted limping when leaving City Ground after game-changing FA Cup performance

Bruno Fernandes was spotted limping when leaving The City Ground following Manchester United’s 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest.

The victory booked the Red Devils’ spot in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, in which they’ll take on fierce rivals – and current Premier League leaders – Liverpool at Old Trafford over the weekend of March 16/17.

It certainly wasn’t a pretty victory, with the deadlock only being broken in the 89th minute, but they all count, and United have silverware in their sights for the first time this season.

Prior to the line-up being released ahead of kick-off, Bruno Fernandes’ involvement was up in the air after Erik ten Hag revealed yesterday that he was a doubt to feature.

He was, however, named on the teamsheet and played the full 90, proving to be pivotal yet again when it was his free-kick that was met by Casemiro to seal the late triumph away from home. He also continued his remarkable streak of never missing a fixture for United through a fitness complaint.

There were frequent times throughout the match when the captain could be seen limping or tending to some pain. His manager claimed after the game that Forest players were deliberately targeting and fouling Fernandes, who had been carrying a ‘serious injury’.

Further injury concerns for United

In a video shared by Samuel Luckhurst tonight, Fernandes is seen limping as he makes his way to the team coach, rendering his availability for Sunday’s Manchester derby a question mark.
