Manchester derby news: City ace left inconsolable after suffering another injury setback while Haaland hits Luton for five

Jack Grealish was left distraught on Manchester City’s bench last night after being withdrawn before half time with another injury setback.

The England international was forced off in the 38th minute of the fifth round FA Cup tie and replaced by summer signing Jeremy Doku, with Grealish later being spotted covering his face with a training jacket in an inconsolable state despite his teammates’ best efforts to lift his spirits.

Post-match, Pep Guardiola suggested the £100 million man had suffered a recurrence of a previous groin complaint, which you’d expect would rule him out of Sunday’s Manchester derby clash at the Etihad.

Haaland and De Bruyne hit unstoppable form at the worst time for United

Erik ten Hag and his men will have undoubtedly been keeping tabs on their neighbours’ clash against Luton Town – and they’ll be far from pleased with what they saw ahead of this weekend’s encounter; Erling Haaland netted five of City’s six goals on the night, four of which were assisted by influential playmaker Kevin De Bruyne.

In Haaland’s three Premier League appearances against the Red Devils, he has scored five times. Last season’s trip to their turf saw both the Norweigan and Phil Foden register hat-tricks in the 6-3 defeat. Yikes.
