Report: United in process of ‘persuading’ highly-rated player to stay amid interest from three Premier League clubs

Manchester United face a battle in their quest to keep young prospect Omari Forson.

The 19-year-old is out of contract at Old Trafford in the summer of 2024, which has sparked the interest of Newcastle United, Crystal Palace, Brentford, Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Leicester City, leaving Forson with plenty of options should he choose to end his five-year association with the club.

He made his first-ever Premier League start last Saturday in Rasmus Hojlund’s absence, pipping the likes of Antony and Amad Diallo to a starting role against Fulham. He was, however, hooked shortly after the interval, likely due to the tightly-contested, gritty nature of the clash.

Forson also made three appearances prior to the weekend; two in the league and one in the FA Cup, all of which came off the bench. He’s now totalled 59 minutes worth of action on the pitch.

As per HITC, United are locked in negotiations with the Carrington graduate’s representatives in hopes of ‘persuading’ him to commit his future to Old Trafford.
