Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has picked his two favourite goals he has scored during his time with the club.
During his first season as Manchester United’s manager, Erik ten Hag’s most important signing turned out to be Brazilian international Casemiro.
He joined the club from Real Madrid in a £60m move and after some criticism about his signing, he made an instant impact at Old Trafford.
Casemiro started scoring crucial goals for the club, which was really not expected of him when he was signed.
The former Real Madrid midfielder made a formidable partnership with Christian Eriksen in ten Hag’s debut season and that contributed a lot to the good results United achieved.
After winning the Carabao Cup, United went on to break their trophy drought and earn a spot in the Champions League.
Since his transfer, Casemiro has scored 11 goals and provided eight assists, and he has now selected his two favourite goals.
“Whenever you play and whenever you score for United, a team as great as this one, it’s very rewarding,” Casemiro told United’s in-house media.
“But considering the match’s importance, the one against Newcastle is the most important.
“It was a difficult match. It was a final. It was a very important match for us. That one was surely the most important.
“Of course, the most stunning one was against Bournemouth, an away match.
“That was also an important goal. We won that game 1-0, which helped us finish in the top four.”
This season, the 32-year-old’s output has significantly decreased, he has missed a large amount of time due to injury, and he is no longer a reliable starter.
Even if Kobbie Mainoo is becoming more and more popular, Casemiro will still be extremely important if he can assist the young player in developing his game and becoming more mature.
