Mason Greenwood edges closer to Man United exit as club’s asking price is revealed

Mason Greenwood will be sold by Manchester United this summer because there is no turning back for the contentious player at Old Trafford.

Greenwood has been a member of the Man United setup since 2007. However, he was sent on loan to Getafe for the current season after his trial for attempted rape, using coercive and controlling behavior, and assault resulting in actual bodily damage was concluded.

The attacker showed great promise during his time at the club but his off the field behaviour was the reason of his decline at United.

Christopher Michel claims that Greenwood will be sold by the Premier League’s giants this summer since there is no turning back for him at United.

The journalist claims that Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are interested in Greenwood, and that Man United are asking €40 million for the attacker.

With seven goals and five assists in 24 games for Getafe this season, the 22-year-old is undoubtedly making an impression on the Spanish fans.

There is still a lot of football left in Greenwood but that will be played away from Old Trafford. The club cannot afford to bring him back as it greatly damages the image of the club.

United are right to cut off all ties with him and the sooner he is sold permanently, the better it is. The emergence of players like Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho is great news for the future of the club. There is no need for the club to get into a controversy and invite backlash from the fans.
